Level 2 Vocational Pathway

This one year consists of a “package” of qualifications that ill improve the employability of students who do not achieve 4 A*-C GCSE grades or equivalent.

Students taking this course will be given support and advice about what they choose to do at the end of this 1 year course whether it be employment, a course at college or an NVQ training course.

Students will spend 2 days per week in school and 3 days per week at College.

In school students will work on improving English and Maths skills and take part in a range of enrichment activities.

During their time at College students can choose one of the following vocational qualifications:

BTEC First Diploma in Business

BTEC First Diploma in Construction

BTEC First Diploma Health and Social Care

BTEC First Diploma in Information Technology

BTEC First Diploma in Media

BTEC First Diploma in Retail

BTEC First Diploma in Travel and Tourism

Each of these is equivalent to 4 GCSE A*-C grades.

Students will also have the opportunity to gain work experience in a vocational area that interests them.

Students will benefit by still having the support of the school who know them and yet are becoming more independent by attending college.
