BTEC Extended Certificate Sport
A BTEC in Sport can help students achieve their full potential;
learners are rewarded for consistent hard work and demonstration of their
knowledge, without the added pressure of exams at the end. A BTEC in Sport offers
active learning in a vocational context and builds confidence, competence and
motivation in students. It is broadly equivalent to two GCSEs and are fully recognised by the QCDA.
The vocational learning style is completely different from
the more traditional routes. Students may research their topics and present
results in a wide variety of ways other than written text. They don’t have to
work alone: group interaction can often play a part, for example though
teamwork and role-play.
