Ryton Parents – Year 9
Options – Drama
GCSE Drama is all about
understanding what it is like to put yourself in
somebody else’s shoes. You will play
many parts in different situations. You will
have the opportunity to create your own work, as well as look at plays written
by other people. During the course there
are regular trips to local theatres and the chance to work with national and
international practitioners. The course
is in three parts:
Part 1 You will learn to use Drama
skills and techniques to express your feelings and ideas about a range of
issues.
Part 2 You will look at a play to see
how a playwright expresses his/her ideas about a theme or topic, and explore
ways of making the play work on stage.
Part 3 You will have the choice of
being involved in the performance of a play from an existing script or from one
you create yourself.
